Join us for a full day of art, talks, music, and food with the Tallgrass Artist Residency. Events are free; please bring cash for food.

10am – 12pm – Community Open Studios organized by Matfield Green Works. Various locations.

12pm-1pm – Lunch break! Visit Cottonwood Falls or the lunch stand at 206 Bocook St. 

1pm – 4pm – Artist talks at the School for Rural Culture & Creativity featuring 2024 Tallgrass residents and guest speaker Jack Forinash of Blue Sky Center in Cuyama, CA

4pm -6pm – Live music! Kansas Touring Roster mini-showcase outside the School (weather permitting)

6pm-7pm – Community dinner at The School featuring chili made with grass-fed beef (Homestead ranch) and local vegetables, salad with local greens, pears, and feta (Grazing Plains farm), and cookies or bars for dessert. Vegetarian chili available. (Suggested donation $15)

7pm – 9pm – Bonfire at Timber Arches (weather permitting)
